SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
Mr. Woody has extensive experience working with clients in a wide variety of industries in ten years of consulting. His expertise is in information technology and business operations improvement. Recently he has participated in a major change initiative for a large beverage company, a very old pharmaceuticals and chemical company, a large telecommunications company, and implemented new Point of Sale (POS) and inventory technology in a large convenience store chain. He has also led and managed IT strategy, re-engineering, IT effectiveness and system integration projects.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Managed project for large manufacturer of office furniture and fixtures. Responsibilities included Baan software installation, technology management, system modifications management and reengineering of the IT functions. Managed approximately 125 client and consulting professionals.
- Developed project plan, organized project teams, oversaw team progress, and trained team members in effective work techniques for JD Edwards software implementation project for manufacturing client.
- Managed consulting project for Fortune 100 brewing company to reengineer human resources and implement SAP. Project was comprised of approximately seventy-five people divided between reengineering and technical resources.
- Led client Information Technology (IT) team for a major chemical / pharmaceutical company to reengineer its IT systems to support major reengineering in the manufacturing processes.
- Led the technology architecture definition, functional design, hardware and applications software selection, and pilot implementation of 100 convenience stores for a major convenience store chain. Facilitated several teams to include Information Technology Strategy, Back Office, and point-of-sale. Project resulted in stock price improvement of 150%.
- Led four IT Transformation teams responsible for LAN administration and desk top technology support, mid-range computing, computing asset management, and life-cycle methodology for a major telephone company. Successful in delivering $5,000,000 in annual savings for the client.
- Reorganized worldwide hotel chain's IT organization, developed plan for downsizing with minimal negative impact and developed plan for moving the data center to Atlanta.
- Developed IT Strategy; managed Data Center, Technical Support, and Production Control; and assisted in outsourcing of IT Function for medical university data services.
- Led reengineering team for Fortune 100 international chemical company to redesign their inbound and outbound logistics resulting in processes requiring significantly fewer people while substantially improving productivity and reducing inventories.
- Co-managed the design, development, and implementation of a large, state Medicaid system resulting in the first state to implement prepaid medical management for Medicaid. System utilized leading edge technology and development methodologies.
- Developed an IT strategy and five year plan for a major electric utility to improve the companies competitiveness through the use of technology, to reduce risk, and to reduce operating costs while providing more responsive service to the customers.
- Led the development of IT strategy for large water utility in Texas. Effort focused on improvement of delivery of information, state-of-the-art technology, and improved efficiencies of the staff.
- Performed various overview roles and 'expert' analyst roles for large metropolitan natural gas company. Provided technical assurance for implementation of new customer information system and quality assurance of major capital expenditures for technology.
- Conducted analytical study to qualify new technical solution for reading meters for a major electric utility. Project resulted in identifying significant savings for the client through the use of cellular telephone technology.
- Managed technical implementation team for state owned electric generation operation for the entire state of New York. Project required installation of local area networks, in state network, and approximately 1200 PC's and servers. Additionally, significant modifications were required in the central data center functionality and operations.
- Provided Systems Programmer Support and Data Base Administration for Major Cable TV Company in multi-platform environment, including MVS, VSE, CICS mainframe environment, AS 400, and PC/LAN.
- Managed mainframe data center for large textile manufacturing operation.
- Reengineered client service methodology for a leading insurance service provider, achieving significant improvements in client migration, conversion and service, resulting in increased revenues and lowered costs to service an account. Also developed client's IT strategy and delivered significant savings from an IT effectiveness project.
