QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL (QA/QC)
Write, review and monitor quality control programs for engineering firms and laboratories following ISO 9000 guidance. Use training in Deming and Juran management practices to develop project teams and manage QC functions. Certified by the Registration Accreditation Board (RAB) as provisional auditor for ISO 9000 (QA/QC systems) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems).

Evaluate QA/QC systems, documentation and operations per the ISO, federal and state agency, or accrediting association guidance. Conduct audits and work with clients in meeting internal and external goals and standards.

Supervise and perform project-specific data, document and procedural reviews referencing Federal, state, other agency and business Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation and modifications set forth in legally binding agreements. Assess litigation and authenticity criteria.

Apply over 14 years of laboratory research, analysis and QC experience to provide in-depth perspective on project methodologies, data quality objectives, sampling and analysis criteria, and interpretation of data results. Provide independent QA management to analytical laboratories.

Write, review and provide comments to Quality Assurance Project Plans, Sampling and Analysis Plans, Laboratory Analytical Protocols, Work Plans, Data Validation/ Data Management Plans and Natural Resource Damage Assessment Plans and other quality-related documents. Research methodologies that meet project objectives. Act as Liaison between state and federal project managers and engineering or other business technical professionals.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT / CONSULTATION
Manage data quality and QA/QC control phases of environmental and industrial projects across a variety of disciplines:

  • Prepare and manage multiple project budgets
  • Consistently complete tasks on time and within budget
  • Audit agency and private sector laboratories and businesses for compliance with government, ISO 9000, or project requirements. Advise businesses on internal quality control
  • Provide technical support to public involvement and community relations programs, address emotional issues surrounding hazardous waste sites
  • Manage environmental consulting firm. Train, supervise and perform peer review for team of chemical, environmental science, geochemical and database professionals.
ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY
Co-author scientific publications; cited in numerous publications for chemical consulting services. Apply expertise in professional assessment/ research, troubleshooting of inorganic and organic laboratory analyses from laboratory-provided documentation.

Oversee Quality Control and prepare and analyze complex biological, environmental and hazardous waste samples and conduct methods research utilizing gas chromatography (GC), GC mass spectroscopy (GCMS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), total organic carbon and halides (TOC, TOX), Technicon Autoanalyzers, ion exchange, atomic absorption spectroscopy and other routine nutrient analyzers. Ensure data quality using peer quality control board, quality control sample procedures and computerized QC tracking systems.

TRAINING/PRESENTATION
Assess needs, develop and deliver QC and data quality assurance seminars that increase efficiency and accuracy of project management. Utilize seminars to build working teams of technical, legal, outreach, and administrative personnel.

Lead seminars and provide individual consulting for technical professionals in career development, marketing strategies and presentation of their services. Several contracts resulted in highest placement ratings for comparable national programs.

Design and lead adult education programs that develop participants' skills and abilities in dealing with change, making healthy decisions, and taking action to create positive life outcomes.
