![]() Linda PetrieMs. Petrie has been creating web sites for a variety of companies since 1996. Firms that have contracted to conduct Internet projects include mining, lenticular printing, real estate, technical equipment, advertising, artists, educational, and a medley of organizations. Linda also develops multimedia Internet teleconferencing shows for medical companies. At the Colorado Institute of Art, University of Denver and the University of Colorado, Denver, Linda teaches web site development and image manipulation/Photoshop courses. Working in a partnership with the University of Colorado, Denver, College of Engineering and Applied Science and a company called TeleMedia Applications as an instructional designer/project manager, Linda developed online engineering courses that can be delivered on CD ROM, through videoconferencing and on the Internet. She has also worked with Lucent Technologies developing instructional materials for distance learning. In addition, Linda consulted with the State of Colorado's Division of Criminal Justice to map social risk factors on a GIS system for neighborhood policing efforts in the Denver Metro area. This project is called PACT, Pulling America's Communities Together. Linda's background includes a Master's Degree in Communication, extensive database and project management, teaching, and a wide variety of computer skills. Training and Curriculum Development:
Technical Project Management: Manages Internet projects for a variety of companies. Analyzed and designed mainframe information systems for enrollment, immunization, special education, and demographic data in an 84,000 student public school district. Installed and maintained a demographic mapping and planning system. Implemented a CD-ROM imaging system including consultant study, vendor review, design and installation. Designed a telephone financial system for departmental and student billing. Developed an FTE reimbursement and information system for ski industry staff, student, and course information. Won a research grant to explore teacher needs regarding student information and making decisions based on data. Conducted analysis, design, implementation and evaluation of computer systems to meet government reporting specifications. Management: Manages Macromedia Director programmers and Internet developers. Directed ten staff members to complete a variety of projects for the largest school district in Colorado. Streamlined data collection methods affecting 2,000 employees and resulting in receipt of over $350 million in annual educational funding. Reduced audit losses by over $1.5 million a year. Generated projection reports that prompted the passage of a $325 million bond issue to build 21 schools. Negotiated with the Colorado Department of Education to reduce reporting requirements. Created job descriptions, implemented position upgrades, and developed a cooperative working team using management style of facilitation, delegation, coaching, trust, and cooperation. Directed a business and education partnership office and coordinated volunteers for the Jefferson Foundation. Managed a corporate magazine publication, including writing, editing, design layout, and printing. Completed masters degree in communication, emphasizing management, marketing and public relations strategies. Leadership: Assisted with the expansion of Total Quality Management concepts in an educational environment. Restructured a community leadership alumni group into a viable organization.
